Free influencer brief generator

An influencer brief tells creators what your product does, who it's for, three facts they can use, when it goes live and what to link. Then it lets them write the post their way.

Fill in your launch below. You get a full creator brief and a short DM for outreach, ready to copy, download or print. It's free, there's no signup, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

Your creator brief

Free · no signup

Copy it into an email, a DM or a doc. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Tip: send the brief a week before launch, and the launch post link on the day.

What an influencer brief should include

Every brief needs eight things. The generator asks for all of them.

  1. What the product does, in one sentence, written for the reader.
  2. Who it's for, so creators can tell if their followers match.
  3. Three facts creators can use. Three get used. Ten get skimmed.
  4. The launch time, with time zone. "Tuesday morning" is a different hour for every creator.
  5. The link, and the launch post to quote. A link people can try today does more than a waitlist.
  6. The formats that work, like a quote post, a demo clip or a thread.
  7. The approval deadline, so you can check facts before anything goes live.
  8. The disclosure line. Paid posts carry the platform's paid partnership label.

What to leave out of a creator brief

  • A script. Followers can tell when a creator reads one, and scripted posts get less engagement.
  • Required hashtags. They make every post look the same.
  • Ten talking points. The creator knows their audience better than you do. Give three facts and trust them.

Influencer brief template

Prefer to fill it in by hand? Copy this template and replace the brackets. It's the same one we use in the X Launch Playbook.

Launch: [PRODUCT NAME] by [COMPANY]
Goes live: [DATE], [TIME AND TIME ZONE]
Launch post to quote: [LINK, SENT ON THE DAY]

What it does: [ONE SENTENCE]
Who it's for: [THE READER YOU BOTH SHARE]
Three facts you can use: [FACT 1] / [FACT 2] / [FACT 3]
What to link: [LINK]
Assets: [DEMO CLIP, GIF, SCREENSHOTS]

Please write it in your own words. A thread, a demo clip or a quote post with your take all work.
Send your draft before [TIME] for approval.
Paid posts carry the platform's paid partnership label.

How to use the brief

  1. Send the short DM first. Ask if they're interested before you send the full brief.
  2. Send the full brief about a week before launch, with the link and the launch time.
  3. Ask every creator to try the product. A real take beats any line you could write for them.
  4. Review drafts for facts, not voice. If a creator's take is sharper than your own copy, let it run.
  5. Send the launch post link on the day, and ask creators to post in the first hours.

Mistakes that weaken a brief

  • No time zone. Creators post at the wrong hour, and the wave arrives late.
  • Features instead of outcomes. "Sends your action items before the call ends" lands. "AI-powered summaries" doesn't.
  • A waitlist when a working link is possible. People who can't try it have little to say about it.
  • The same format for everyone. Ten quote posts read like an ad buy. Mix demos, threads and takes.
  • No approval deadline. Drafts arrive the night before, and wrong facts slip through.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is an influencer brief?

An influencer brief is a short note you send creators before a launch or campaign. It covers what the product does, who it's for, three facts, the launch time, the link and the approval deadline. Then each creator writes the post in their own words.

  • What should an influencer brief include?

Eight things: what the product does, who it's for, three facts, the launch time with time zone, the link and the post to quote, the formats that work, the approval deadline and the disclosure line for paid posts.

  • How long should an influencer brief be?

About one page. A creator should be able to read it in two minutes. If it runs longer, cut talking points, not facts.

  • Should you give influencers a script?

No. Give them the facts and the timing, then let them write it their way. Followers can tell when a creator reads a script, and scripted posts get less engagement.

  • When should you send an influencer brief?

About a week before launch, so there's time to review drafts. Send the launch post link on the day.

  • Is this influencer brief generator free?

Yes. It's free with no signup. It runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to us or saved.

  • Do paid influencer posts need a disclosure?

Yes. Paid posts should carry the platform's paid partnership label, and the brief should say so. The generator adds that line when you tick the paid post box.
