X launch benchmark calculator

A view count only means something next to the size of the account that posted it. This calculator turns your launch post's views into a multiple of following, then shows where it sits against 13 real AI launch posts, from Cartesia's 7.13M-view founder post to JovidaAI's launch from an account with 73 followers.

Enter your followers and views. Add likes and bookmarks if you have them. It's free, there's no signup, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

How the calculator works

Multiple of following = views on the launch post ÷ followers when you posted. 105,600 views from an account with 73 followers is about 1,400x. It answers the question raw views can't: how far did the launch travel beyond the people who already follow you?

We read the multiple this way. It's our own rough guide from these launches, not a rule from X.

  • Under 1x. The post barely left your own followers.
  • 1x to 10x. People shared it beyond your followers.
  • 10x to 100x. It spread well past your audience.
  • 100x and up. A launch wave carried it.

Likes and bookmarks are shown per 1,000 views, so a small post and a huge one can be compared fairly. Across our 13 launch posts the medians were about 0.8 likes and 0.6 bookmarks per 1,000 views.

Where the benchmark comes from

The benchmark is 13 AI launch posts from our case studies, using the public counts on each post as of October 2026. Nine of them state the account's following, so those nine set the multiple comparison. Every one of the nine passed 20x, and four passed 300x.

The full table, with views, bookmarks, quotes and likes for all 13 posts, is in how many views is viral on X.

How to raise your multiple next time

  • Get people sharing in the first hours. A launch post spreads fastest early, so line up people who will quote it with their own take.
  • Show the product working. A short demo earns bookmarks and quotes. A screenshot of a landing page rarely does.
  • Put creators your buyers follow behind it. That's how JovidaAI reached about 1,400x from a brand-new account with 14 creators.

Our X launch agency times a creator wave to your launch post, and every X campaign has an agreed impressions floor. The X launch playbook covers the rest.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is a good multiple of following on X?

There's no official number. In our 13 AI launch posts, every launch we could measure passed 20x, and four passed 300x. Under 1x means the post barely left your followers. 100x and up usually means a launch wave carried it.

  • How do you work out the multiple of following?

Divide the views on your launch post by the followers the account had when it posted. 105,600 views from an account with 73 followers is about 1,400x.

  • How many likes per 1,000 views is good on X?

Across our 13 launch posts the median was about 0.8 likes per 1,000 views. Over 1 is a strong response. Very big posts often sit under 0.3, because more people glance and scroll on.

  • Why do bookmarks matter for a launch post?

A bookmark usually means someone plans to come back and try the product. The median in our benchmark was about 0.6 bookmarks per 1,000 views, and over 1 is a strong sign.

  • Does this tool store what I type?

No. The numbers stay in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
